THAT controversial scene in last night's Game of Thrones has thoroughly divided fans
LAST NIGHT’S GAME of Thrones proved to be another controversial episode in a series of controversial episodes – but this time, some fans are asking if it has gone too far.
*There will be spoilers in this article. Do not move past the Tyrion Lannister buffer, do not collect €200.*

In last night’s episode, Sansa Stark was married off to the villainous Ramsay Snow. On their wedding night, he rapes her and forces Reek (AKA Theon Greyjoy, who grew up with Sansa) to watch.
Fans and critics alike noted that this scene does not occur in the books – author George RR Martin has defended the showrunners’ decision in a post on his blog:

Fans, however, have been divided into two camps. One camp thinks the show’s depiction of rape is gratuitous and unnecessary – and argue that this particular scene did nothing to further Sansa’s storyline:

Either way, it seems like last night’s episode was the final straw for many former GoT fans.
